The Jensen Connection

May 29, 2005

Natalie finished up another round of swimming lessons this month. She has been improving! For the rest of the summer I think I will take her to have some fun play swimming time so that she can become more used to getting her face wet.

On Saturday May 7th our family went to Ethan Hanna’s birthday party at Jungle Jim’s. It’s always fun to see & hang out with Ethan & family! Ethan just turned 4.

Sarah Jane & Scott moved into that new house of theirs in Lehi the same weekend. It is SO gorgeous with the new paint job and carpet! Scott continues to do home repairs and fixing all of the “inadequate” lighting. How cool to have your own live-in personal electrician and handyman, Sarah! Of course, I love having my own live-in financial guru, comedian and technology wiz, too. Husbands are just all around great to have around, no matter what their talents may be. ?

On Mother’s Day, May 8th, Natalie & Dave made me breakfast in bed- you know the tradition, right? Pancakes with strawberries & whipped cream! (Dad Jett makes that for Mom every year. ?)

We have sure enjoyed seeing all of the new pictures Fran and other family members keep up-to-date on the web at JensenConnection.com. Also, Dad Jett put up another new “Jim’s Gem” @ JettsUnited.com from April. Aren’t we so lucky to be able to communicate SO easily through the internet! Dave is continually learning new things to add to our family website- the most recent of which is a “Guest Map.” It is kind of like a guest book, but instead of signing your name and writing a little note, you get to put a pin on our map of the U.S. where you are located. Go ahead and make your mark on our map- we would LOVE to hear a little note from YOU! www.myJensen.com. (You can still get there from typing rachndave.com, but MyJensen.com is the newer name we will be using from now on.) Dave also keeps the pictures up to date, so you can check out how big Natalie is getting, too.

Grandma Jett came to visit on May 12th through May 18th. It was HEAVENLY having her here- even though Natalie and I had to share her with John & Sarah Jane, too. ;o) She came just for a visit and to help Sarah get some more things prepared for when Jackson comes. Friday night the 13th we had dinner down at John & Elisa’s apt in Provo, Saturday we went on a family temple trip to the Jordan River Temple & out to eat at Pei Wei’s, Sunday we had dinner & watched “Phantom of the Opera” at Sarah & Scott’s, and Monday night was a Baby Shower for Sarah Jane @ Lyn Wright’s house.

Natalie finally had her “3 year old” check-up on Monday the 16th. She has had a very healthy year! Well, too bad we didn’t knock on wood, because a week later she got strep! She still hasn’t gotten back to 100% since then, but she’s not contagious any more and is improving slowly but surely.

On Saturday the 21st (same day as Uncle Ben’s birthday!) was a WAY fun MK Color Class up in Ogden- my cousin Amy Morris was my hostess that day. I had a blast visiting her and the other Hubbard girls that were able to attend. Amy helped me hit a HUGE milestone in my business this month- my very first EVER of what they call in Mary Kay a “Power Start”- doing 30 faces in 30 days. So far I am at 34 faces for the month of May- and it isn’t even the last day yet! What a record breaking month- not only for the number of facials I was able to teach, but also that I didn’t wait till the last day and have to be stressed out about it! Man that feels good! ?

Greg, Nic, Micah & Sadie came to visit a couple days after Mom Jett went back to GA. (yes- right when Natalie was the most contagious with Strep ?) Luckily, as far as we know no one got sick from Nat, and we had GREAT FUN while they were here! We celebrated Micah’s 3rd birthday on Monday the 23rd. He shares the same birthday of Rachel’s best friend Allyson – although they are a few years apart in age. ;o)

Friday the 27th our family went to the Ward Elder’s Quorum BBQ. It was way fun- especially to hear Dave being able to talk “Techno” with his other “technological” buddies. There are quite a lot of Computer… can I call my own husband a nerd?... I’ll just say, Computer “Experts” in our ward. ;o)

It is so fun to watch and hear Natalie developing her thought and speech processes. Just today she was notifying Dave that he was still in his pajamas late into the morning. Dave told her, “OK- I’ll go change into YOUR pajamas.” Natalie proceeded to tell him that her pajamas were too small. Dave said, “OK- then I will go put on Mom’s!” To which she replied, “No, Papa, hers are too medium. You need to wear large.” She also reminds us every time we get into the car, “Do you have your seat belt on yet?” Thank goodness we have Natalie to help keep us in line! We have just gotten her signed up for preschool which starts in September. Can you believe how big she is getting!

Well, tomorrow is Memorial Day, and we have plans to go hiking as a family if Natalie is doing OK “fever & sore throat”-wise. We are hoping for great weather. Then one more day after that and another month will have come and gone!

Happy beginning of summer to everyone~
Rachel, Dave, & Natalie Jensen
