The Jensen Connection
January 2005
I must say that January went even faster than December! But it
was a great month.
Rachel got a new calling as the Primary Chorister! She is really
loving it so far. Natalie is in the primary now that she is 3, so
mom gets to see her each Sunday singing in the front row with her
new teacher Sister Smith! Brother Matt Olsen is the new pianist.
Dave has his office all set up with a new desk and file cabinets.
He brought the flat screen monitor from home to work so that he
could have 2 side-by-side. It all looks pretty sharp altogether
in there. He continues to do at least 2 seminar nights a month to
service his current and potential clients, which he loves. Rachel
comes to these as well, to help greet each guest and to set appointments
afterwards. Dave has gotten an assistant for the first time this
month! Her name is Courtney Duty. She does a GREAT job so far! She
helps him get those mailings out, as well as helps a lot with making
phone calls to remind/set up appointments with people. She works
for him about 20 hours a week. It gives Dave more time to be doing
more “income producing” activities, like meeting with
the clients and teaching the seminars!
Rachel & Natalie got to go on another playgroup field trip
this month: to the Children’s Museum of Natural History on
Tuesday the 18th (which was also Rachel’s birthday!)
On Wednesday the 19th Rachel had her first of a new kind of Mary
Kay party- a “Rock, Shimmer, & Shine” party! The
hostess (Rachel this time) and one of the guests won a gorgeous
pink ring. Out of 12 guests, Mom Jensen was the one who won the
other ring! It was a fun night.
On a more personal note, on the 20th Rachel having a lot of cramps-
not a good sign when you are 10 weeks pregnant! We ended up miscarrying
the baby the following week. Rachel was having REALLY bad cramps
on Sunday and Monday the 23rd and 24th, but luckily was able to
take extra strength Tylenol and Ibuprofen, and was able to take
some days off to just relax and recoup. (And thankfully, DAVE was
able to also take days off so that RACHEL could take the days off-
since Rachel’s job is taking care of Natalie!) Rachel is now
back to 100% and doing great. Even though we are sad not to be having
another Jett cousin this year, we look forward to when we can, and
know that another baby will come when the time is best! We sure
are glad that Dave is able to give such comforting priesthood blessings
for Rach.
On a happier note, Dave & Rach got to go to the annual MassMutual
awards banquet on Friday the 28th. It was REALLY great food and
fun- plus Dave got to stand up for his “Leader’s”
award. He got a $100 gift check! We bought a TiVo with it, which
the whole family has been really enjoying.
On the 29th Rachel got to go to the annual Robert Jones training
event- he is a make-up artist that comes to SLC once a year in January.
It was amazing as always. (This is the 3rd year she has gotten to
go.) She sure appreciates Dave making the time to have dates with
Natalie while mom gets to go to events & trainings like this
one!
Well, that’s about it for January! Until next month…
