The Jensen Connection
December 2004
WOW December flew by!
On Saturday the 11th we got to go to the Salt Lake City temple
for the first time to do a live session. It was a triple date with
John & Elisa, Scott & Sarah Jane. We went out to eat afterwards
at Skybox Restaurant. It was also fun to get a glimpse of the decorations
@ Temple Square- even though it was very crowded and very cold!
Dave and I both had “work” parties the week after that-
we had a Mary Kay Dinner & gift exchange on Thursday the 16th,
and then saw the movie “A Series of Unfortunate Events”
with Dave’s MassMutual coworkers on Friday the 17th. PLUS
after the movie on Friday, we went over to a dinner party with old
coworkers from Pleasant Green Elementary. We try to get together
with them at least every other month. This time it was Pizza, salads,
and elephant gifts at one of the new teachers’ homes- Christie
Squires.
On Wednesday, December 22nd we had a Birthday/Slumber Party for
Natalie’s 3rd birthday! We just had a couple of her little
girlfriends come over for a Princess movie & cupcakes. Her cousin
Addison ended up being the only one staying over night. We all had
a lot of fun, although we had to have the 2 girls sleep in different
rooms since they just wanted to talk and play while they were together!
;o)
Since we had tickets to go to GA on Friday afternoon the 24th,
we opened Natalie’s birthday gifts on Thursday morning the
23rd, and we opened Christmas gifts the morning of the 24th! (Even
though Nat’s b-day is technically on the 24th.) We also found
out that we were pregnant on the morning of the 24th! WAHOO 3 Jett
cousins in 2005! We arrived in Atlanta that night around midnight,
prepared stockings, and went to bed.
Well, the ACTUAL Christmas morning was a blast, of course, watching
Natalie opening her stocking, etc. She got 2 board games that she
has been loving- Candy-land and Chutes & Ladders. She also got
some great outfits, a new baby named Amanda, and lots of other fun
toys and gifts. She actually kind of got tired of opening gifts
by the end- after 4 days in a row of wrapped presents! It was funny.
Christmas day we got to go up to Grandma and Grandpa Johanson’s
for dinner. It was also fun to see Joe & Cathy’s family.
Here are some more of the fun events & activities from the
trip:
• Natalie sure had a blast playing with Grandma and Granddaddy
Jett for that whole week after Christmas! They played together and
let Natalie “help” them a lot around the house.
• Dave got a new Xbox game called “Fusion Frenzy”
which was really fun for a lot of us- with a variety of games- one
that even RACHEL beat Dave on multiple times! (It was a musical
one with beats and rhythms.)
• One night Dave and Rachel went on a double date with Rachel
& Antonio Quesada. That sure was fun- dinner at a fun restaurant,
then watching a movie at their house up in Lawrenceville. Mom &
Dad Jett were nice to baby-sit for us!
• We had a day of going back up to Grandma & Grandpa Johanson’s
for Dave to help with the computer, and Rachel to play a puzzle!
?
• Rachel enjoyed making cards with Mom Jett with stamps and
chalks.
• Another special event was seeing Stephen get his patriarchal
blessing and also become an Elder while we were there!
• Rachel helped mom & dad get their MK inventory counted
for end-of-year tax preparation.
• We got to eat at the restaurant where Dan works: “Buffalo’s.”
Yummy food and spectacular service! ;o)
• Scott, Sarah Jane, Dad, Mom & Rachel got to go to a
temple session where Grandpa Johanson was officiating and Grandma
Johanson was also a temple worker. That was wonderful, except that
Sarah fainted and had to go eat some food and drink some juice!
• Scott, Sarah Jane and I all studied for and passed our Ham
Radio License Test! It was so cool to be able to all work on it
together. It is fun to have that in common with Dad Jett, now!
• Natalie sure had fun attending Grandma Jett’s Sunbeam
class! Now that Nat’s 3 she gets to go to primary. Natalie
also bore her testimony for the first time!!! It was wonderful.
She pretty much said that she loved “you and you and you and
you and you…” pointing out into the audience! ? What
a sweetheart!
Well, here’s hoping you have a great start to the year 2005!
Love you all,
Rachel, Dave, & Natalie Jensen
